Empty Bowls Fundraiser benefiting the Cochrane Food Bank

Edit: Congrats Cochrane! Together we raised over $3000 for the Cochrane Food Bank! It was a great turnout for this year too! Beautiful weather all day, I got to throw on the street like a regular ol’ street performer! It was a lot of fun. The bowls that were a big hit this year were the local clay out by Dartique Hall. One of our members dug up the clay and we refined and tested it and made quite a few bowls for this years fundraiser! It was a very cool project we all helped with, also a great learning experience.

Empty Bowls is an international grassroots effort to raise awareness for the global fight against hunger that is initiated and organized by artisans and other groups on a community level. Community artisans create and donate bowls to raise funds for local hunger relief programs and which serve as both a symbol and a reminder of the empty bowls throughout the world.

Artisans of Saffron Collective Studio in Cochrane have created handcrafted ceramic bowls, mugs and plates in support of the Empty Bowls initiative.

In return for your donation, you will receive the bowl, mug or plate of your choice and have the opportunity to fill your empty bowl with food generously provided by local participating restaurants.

The proceeds from the sale of these ceramics will be donated to the Cochrane Food Bank.
